Code Geass – Episode 17

Having dealt with Mao, Lelouch proceeds with his plan of creating a world where Nunnally can live in. He needs one key piece before things can finally set into motion. Lelouch needs Toudou. In order to get him to join the Order of the Black Knights, Lelouch will execute an intervention with Toudou’s planned execution where Suzaku is to be the executioner.

Artemis appears yet again in the form of Lelouch’s awesome analysis of the enemy’s movements. I feel bad for the poor guy, I really do. I want to smack Suzaku silly. Maybe if I do so, Suzaku will join the Order of the Black Knights and make Lelouch’s dream happen? Anyways, Toudou’s character is admirable. Suzaku bugs the heck out of me. He’s such a flake!!! (Actually, I don’t really dislike him that much. I just think he’s stupid at times…okay…stupid a lot of times, heh.)

Busou Renkin – Episode 24

March 31, 2007 at 11:10 pm (Busou Renkin)

Busou Renkin episode 24
~When You Die, I Will Die Too~

‘This time we we’ll probably be parting for a while longer, but I’ll definitely come back, so don’t worry.’

Summer is slowly coming to an end and that also means the end of the peace that Tokiko and Kazuki have been enjoying for a few days now. The summer festival has the duo in high spirits, even though Tokiko is still wondering about how Kazuki plans to use the “White Kakugane.”

The last inch of peace that was left, however, is taken away when Gouta comes and informs our heroes that the Kakugane has been completed and the attack against Victor must now begin!

Buster Baron begins its assault against the threat to alchemy and humanity alike, and when Kazuki and Tokiko finally arrive…will the white Kakugane be able to stop the monsterous being? Or will the world of alchemy and alchemic warriors cease to exist? Find out as the final battle unwinds and Busou Renkin soon comes to its end.

[Nyanto's Thoughts:] Okay, I am going to say this right now. I cried A LOT in this episode, the voice acting really brought out the emotion of the characters. Kazuki’s final decision left me in tears and the overall happenings of the episode kept me at the edge of my seat. This is one episode you really don’t want to miss!

Busou Renkin – Episode 23

March 24, 2007 at 1:29 pm (Busou Renkin)

”When you die, I will die too. You and I are one.”

Kazuki has been left with the choice of either using the White Kakugane on himself or using it on Victor. Most would consider this a simple choice, but for Mutou Kazuki it is not as simple. Kazuki and Tokiko return to school and reunite with their friends. Kazuki speaks as if nothing has happened to keep up everyones spirits. It’s the end of break and the group goes out to celebrate what just might be their last time together. They visit the amusement park, much to the liking (and horror) of Okakura and enjoy themselves riding rides and visiting haunted houses. Meanwhile the battle between the Arms Regiment and Victor rages on in what seems to be a never ending battle. What is Kazuki’s decision and how close will Kauki and Tokiko get before the use of the White Kakugane?

~Miso’s Thoughts~

Here’s a fun and sweet episode for those of you who don’t really enjoy action (if you don’ enjoy action, why are you watching an action anime?) or really want to see the development between Kazuki and Tokiko (the more likely of the two choices I hope). I enjoyed this episode, it was a great cooldown from all the action and tension in the story line that was piling up.

Code Geass – Episode 16

The Order of the Black Knights is now more active than ever with a strong base of supporters. However, Lelouch still has to attend school. Just as he returns to school to make sure that he doesn’t fail the attendance requirement, Lelouch finds out that Mao is alive and well. Perhaps a little too well considering that the man has kidnapped Nunnally. Now, in order to save the sister that he loves, Lelouch must play the little game Mao has set up for him.

Oh boy, Mao really does scare me. This episode made me laugh at Lelouch. Yes…laugh AT Lelouch. His facial expression and the voice acting when he cracked…wow. As for Viletta? Her voice actor did a really good job! There’s Viletta of Britannia with her commanding, sultry voice, and there’s Viletta of the lost-my-memories with her cute, homey voice. Yup, I do love Japanese voice actors.

RPing Forum

March 13, 2007 at 3:57 am (Busou Renkin, Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion, News/Misc., Shounen Onmyouji, Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou)

Hello!

I would like to announce that we have revamped our forum to become an Roleplaying forum! Yes, you should be psyched about it because there aren’t many Busou Renkin, Code Geass, nor Shounen Onmyouji RP forums out there. In this case, I believe that this forum is unique because you can roleplay purely Code Geass events for example, or you can interact with others that “belong” to other anime shows.

For the time being, we are focusing on three shows. However, as we get along in the reviews of Tokyo Majin and Fate/Stay Night, we are considering to adding them onto the list of shows to RP if we have enough members.

So why don’t you all check the forum out at least? To get a jist of what’s going on, I’d read the guidelines thread in the “Getting Started” subforum. Preferably we’d like you to read the rules first before hand, but it’s more important that we intereset you guys before we intimidate all of you off. XD;;;

Code Geass – Episode 15

Lelouch is back at school with a new problem. He has to think of a way to deal with his new enemy, Mao. While grappling with the threat Mao brings with his mind reading Geass powers, Lelouch encounters Shirley for the first time after having erased her memory of everything related to him. Everything doesn’t seem to be going well for him until he receives a certain call from Mao.

Gah!!! The CHAINSAW!!! [Insert groan] I feel bad for Mao, I really do. After all, being able to read everyone’s mind and not being able to stop their thoughts from pouring in really sucks. However, the guy still creeps me out. Chopping up C.C. and bringing her onto an airplane? I wonder if he figured out that he most likely wouldn’t be able to pass the airport’s security checkpoint with a bunch of bloody body parts. It was neat how they drew Mao and his crazy facial expressions–though if they couldn’t pull that off, then they’re be really bad animators–and subtly showed that he was Chinese, even if it’s by using “stereotypical Chinese clothes.” Anyhow, I have a great affinity for things like this show where Lelouch is a step ahead of everyone else. (Again, Artemis Fowl, anyone?)

La Corda D’Oro – Episode 7

March 10, 2007 at 7:53 pm (La Corda D'Oro ~primo passo~)

Corda 7_2Corda 7_3Corda 7_1

After finding herself in a compromising situation with Hihara, their relationship returns back to normal. However, Tsukimori catches her outside in the hallway and questions her ability to be in the competition. Thinking on his words, Hino seems to be unable to practice full heartedly. But during her break, Kanazawa-sensei sees her and ends up dragging her to a shopping trip. Will Hino find her spirits after spending time with the others during their errands?

I insist that everyone must see this episode if not for the cuteness of Hihara’s reactions, but definitely for the wonderful Ave Maria (Schubert) violin duet played in this episode. As I said before, the difficulty level of the piece isn’t anything note-worthy, but it doesn’t change the fact that it is a beautiful song. Plus, it’s hard to find a recording of a violin duet of Ave Maria. (I have piano, opera, and violin recordings, but not violin duets. If anyone knows of any artists who play the duet that was played in this episode, let me know, please!) And as a last note, for some strange reason, I thought it was cute that they actually animated Hino and Tsukimori-kun to vibrato on that song. (I really don’t know why I thought it was cute instead of something praise-worthy. Maybe it was because Tsukimori-kun looked so vulnerable later on?) Again, this show is probably the best when it comes to animating people playing music.

~Empress

P.S. Drop a comment if you guys were reminded of the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet when you saw the two play the violin duet.

Busou Renkin – Episode 22

March 10, 2007 at 2:37 am (Busou Renkin)

[Opening Song: "Makka Na Chikai" by Yoshiki Fukuyama]

[Summary: "The Vital Decision"]
Victor reminesces about his past–before he became the wielder of the black kakugane–but was interrupted by a hoard of attacks by a missile Busou Renkin. Of course, he came out unharmed and the battle continues.

Kazuki, Tokiko, and Gouta arrive at Newton Apple Girl’s Academy and meets up with Papillion (who seems to have recovered from his previous battle) and Gozen. However, their meeting was cut off short when a mysterious figure shows up on the other side of the gates; the gates that came between them and Newton Apple Girl’s Academy.

General Sakaguchi Shousei’s Busou Renkin is revealed, along with how they can un-Victorize Victor and Kazuki. But are they willing to make that sacrifice? Or will one of them be doomed to destroy the world?

[Ending Song: "Itoshiki Sekai" by Aya Kagami]

[The Kuroneko's Thoughts]
Busou Renkins just get bigger and more fantastic as the anime progresses! Who knew that there were kakugane that can change into ships and submarines and dogs!? And omg…everything is twisting and turning…I’m getting dizzy! This episode is full of suspense and “WHAT?NOWAY!” moments that makes this anime even more worth watching than before!!

Busou Renkin Episode 21

March 10, 2007 at 2:08 am (Busou Renkin)

[Gone Into Flame]

Just when you thought that the battles where all over and done with, Hiwatari makes his grand entrance and attempts to do what Captain Bravo has failed: completing Operation Re-Kill. Even though Bravo has his order to kill Kazuki and retrieve the “Black Kakugane” he boldly takes a stand to protect him and faces off against an old comrade.

When the battle begins to heat up though, it quickly ends with the appearance of General Shousei. All of the wounded Alchemic Warriors are being taken care of and Kazuki, Tokiko, and Gouta receives the chance to finally talk with the people who have been after them. Luck seems to be on their side–the regiment has managed to locate Victor!

With Operation Re-Kill now suspended, Bravo unable to battle, and Gouta and Tokiko now no longer traitors, will the forces of the remaining Alchemic Warriors be enough to defeat Victor? The final battle is almost under way, so don’t miss out!

[Nyanto's Thoughts: An episode that made me both cry and laugh, now that's rare. Episode was just a great mixture of drama and comedy. I had a great time watching it. Shousei is hilarious! XD And I learned something new today..."Never ignore the general's orders."
The final battle is slowly approaching and the story is getting really good!

Code Geass – Episode 14

March 8, 2007 at 3:33 pm (Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion)

Geass versus Geass

Zero was knocked unconcious and somebody saw him. Well, actually two people saw him without his mask on. Cornelia and her knights have deduced because of the previous battle with Zero & company that it’s not Brittannians he’s after but the actual Brittannian Royal Family. Lelouch calls Suzaku to relay a message to Nanali at the student council office, while Nina is showing her infatuation with Euphie again (She’s pratically begging Suzaku to give her a chance to meet her.). Lelouch, however, talks to Suzaku through the phone call more or less to confirm that Suzaku nor Brittannia know about his true identity. So he begins to narrow things down with C.C.’s help of course. Lelouch remembers seeing Shirley before he passed out, so they search through Shirley’s belongings ( with the help of Geass and the fake disinfecting the room ploy) Lelouch and C.C. learn that Shirley might be in Narita. Shirley is in fact in Narita, but a mysterious young man with headphone and a rose-colored visor makes small talk with Shirley. But it’s not “how do you do?”, it’s “You’re a murderer. You’re a wicked witch.” Lelouch and C.C. arrive in Narita and immediately split up to find Shirley. Lelouch gets a phone call from Shirley, but it’s the headphones guy, who is right behind him! This guy challenges Lelouch to a chess duel on a hill train ( Sorry I don’t know what those things are called really.). C.C. sees Lelouch and this guy going up in the train and is shocked to see this person. Well she finally gives him a name, Mao. When Lelouch and Mao, reach the top, Mao has already won and Lelouch can’t believe it. But Shirley is waiting at the top station for Lelouch, with a loaded gun, poised and ready to fire.

WHahaha! My Mao has arrived! Sorry, I know he’s a bad guy but I can’t HELP it! I love Mao. He’s just so…unsympathetic toward the pain and emotions he’s forcing on Shirley and Lelouch. This episode was a drama load. I mean, Lelouch has to be pretty smart to go through all of Shirley’s things to find out through a timetable that she’ll be in Narita and that she has his gun.  -__-; But whatever moves the plot along. Nina’s incessant pestering about meeting Euphie is REALLY starting to bug me. This girl has some issues. Seriously.
